Entrepreneurship is NOT for the Faint of Heart

Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart.

It takes a special kind of person with a unique set of skills and intrinsic characteristics to take the risk of pursuing one’s passion in lieu of holding a secure job with a predictable income. That being said, there are elements of entrepreneurship which can be learned and mastered in order to make the journey towards sustainable success more attainable. Here are five core principles for success that can be implemented at any stage along the entrepreneurial road:

Entrepreneur Hacks That Shatter Self-Limiting Beliefs

Entrepreneur, whether you’re a seasoned veteran or fairly new to this world, here are four simple hacks to help you shatter self-limiting beliefs.

There are many perks to being an entrepreneur, no doubt. For the most part, you get to set your own hours, make your own rules, work from wherever you choose, and be your own boss. Sounds amazing, right?  Well, the truth is entrepreneurship can be a very rewarding, fulfilling, and lucrative endeavor, but it can also be a very frustrating, overwhelming, and isolating experience at times as well. The successful entrepreneur rarely, if ever, talks about the struggles that go on behind the scenes when no one is looking. To the public eye, she seems to have it altogether. Strikingly beautiful photos, a professionally designed website, and a fancy logo are all a part of the public persona of the successful entrepreneur. Pull back the curtain though, and you might very well see a different reality.

Perseverance Through Pain

Perseverance is the ability to push through the darkest and most painful periods of your life. It is the fire that fuels your soul when it appears as though all hope is lost.

Perseverance is the very thing that keeps you alive when you otherwise might give up altogether. I know a thing or two about the power of perseverance. In truth, I know a whole lot…

Have you ever felt lost? I mean totally down and out, completely lost? Not sure which way to turn? Afraid of your own shadow? Paralyzed by fear? Immobilized by fear? I have. One too many times, actually. It may be hard for you to believe, but it’s true. Yes, me. The positive, upbeat, and inspirational coach you’ve come to recognize me as today, has been to hell and back more than once. I spent a significant portion of time in my late 20s and early 30s working through bouts of anxiety, depression, and perfectionism. There were days that I didn’t know if I had the strength to keep going, let alone the strength to help anyone else. If someone had told me back then that not only would I persevere, but that I’d someday rise up to use my own experiences in the valley to empower other women to become the best possible version of themselves, I would have laughed and then probably started to cry again. I did a lot of crying back then.

Looking back now however, I am incredibly grateful for the struggles I faced and the battles I fought within for they taught me that I was far stronger than I would have ever imagined and more courageous than I thought I was capable of being. They taught me the true meaning of perseverance and how to keep going despite what I was facing. Furthermore, had it not been for the struggles I endured, I may not have ever discovered my Higher Purpose in life. Perhaps I would have chosen the wrong career path instead of becoming a life and business coach that empowers other heart-centered women entrepreneurs to reclaim their personal power. All I know is this: I wake up each morning filled with gratitude and optimism knowing that I’m finally living in alignment with my Higher Power and it feels absolutely A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

While I stand authentically confident in my own truth today, I’m saddened by the number of women I’ve met who are just going through the motions.

Perseverance is the Ability to Push Through the Darkest

You know the type of woman I’m referring to. Perhaps you can relate or maybe, just maybe, you are her. On the outside she smiles only to hide the sadness in her soul. She appears to be flawless in her outward appearance, but when she washes away the makeup, the dark circles around her eyes are still there from the tears that stained her pillowcase the night before. She looks in the mirror and tells herself that everything will be okay, but she just can’t shake the feelings of inadequacy that have plagued her for a lifetime. She knows there’s got to be a better way; this is no way to live. In truth, she’s absolutely right. She’s not living; she’s existing. The gap between these two states of being is monumental.

I’m here to tell you that you are strong enough to handle this life. While you cannot yet see the light at the end of the tunnel and all things seem dark and bleak, please know there is a way out.

It’s just that life’s negative experiences have beaten you down and clouded your vision temporarily. It appears as though your inner flame has been extinguished and your dreams have been crushed. Trust me. I know how you feel. I’ve been there, too. I’ve been down and out. I’ve felt moments of despair, down on my knees crying out to my Higher Power, “Please help me find a better way.” I’ve been through heartbreak, personal and professional setbacks, depression, and despair, but by the grace of God, I’ve lived to tell about it and you will, too! I promise. All you need is a little guidance, someone to hold your hand while you learn to walk again, someone to hold your hand while you continue to walk steadier, someone to hold your hand until you’re ready to let go and begin sprinting again on your own.

I’m that person. I’m that coach. I’m real. I’m honest. I’m compassionate and empathic and I will be with you every step of the way. I will show you how to shatter your innermost fears and how to conquer your self-sabotaging thoughts and beliefs so that you can live an empowered life, too. I’ll show you how to develop rock-solid confidence and reclaim your birth right to be happy and healthy. I’ll show you how to persevere through the pain so that you can live to be the best possible version of yourself and make your mark in the world.

If you have been touched by anything I’ve written or if you can relate in any way, I want to hear from you. As women we need to stick together and help one another. Together, we are stronger, which is why I’d love for you to connect with my tribe and me over in my Facebook group, The Confidence Hub for Heart-Centered Women Entrepreneurs. Until next time my friend, keep your head held high and hold onto your faith. I believe in you and I know that you have the perseverance to push through the pain you may be going through.

Miracles and Momentum

Miracles are the building blocks upon which momentum is built. A simple tweak in your perception of how you define a miracle is sometimes all it takes to shift your momentum and set you on the path to success. Let’s take a closer look at the anatomy of a miracle in order to understand its relationship to momentum and success .

How many times have you prayed for a miracle to happen in your own or someone else’s life? If you’re like me, the numbers are probably pretty high. What, in your opinion, constitutes a miracle, though? Is it being in the right place at the right time? Is it having something larger than you’d expect to have happened actually happen?

While there’s certainly nothing wrong with classifying such events as miracles, we sometimes forget to see the infinite number of small miracles that are unfolding all around us on a daily basis. What’s more is that we fail to use these miracles to build momentum and shift the winds in our favor. Sometimes, when we think about miracles as having to be these big grandiose occurrences that happen only once in a while, we forget about all of the countless times our prayer requests have been answered.

Miracles are unfolding all around you. Are you open to receiving them?

Just think about the fragility of life for a moment. With all of its uncertainties and complexities, it truly is a miracle that you were given this day to live and have somehow found your way in this time and place to read this article. The mere fact that you have the ability read this article is a miracle in and of itself. Think about what it signifies on a deeper level;  it may just help you shift your mindset and momentum. Honestly, let’s take a moment to break it down:

It means you have been given another day of life in which to love and be loved. MIRACLE!

It means you have the gift of vision to read this article. MIRACLE!

It means you have the gift of literacy and can read and interpret the content you are currently looking at. MIRACLE!

It means you have the technological means by which to see this article and connect with others all over the globe via the web. MIRACLE!

The list goes on and on… throw a little gratitude into the mix and you’ll start to see even more miracles unfold around you. That’s exactly how the Creator responds. It’s truly an amazing and eye-opening perspective to adopt… one that creates more abundance, momentum, and prosperity all around. The more you stop to recognize and appreciate the miracles you already receive each day, the more you’ll receive.

Miracles are Unfolding All Around You

Speaking of miracles, did you know that what you choose to focus on each morning has the ability to impact your entire day? When you awake each morning, start by giving thanks to the Almighty for giving you another beautiful day in which to love and be loved. Focus on the positive things that are happening in and around you.

Take note of the beautiful sunrise as it graces Mother Earth with its breathtaking hues. Listen to the sounds of the birds chirping, and feel the positive energy that is all around you. Tune in to the miracles that are unfolding all around you. As you allow the positive energy to envelope you, visualize yourself at the base of a mountain; see yourself moving one step at a time as you transcend gravity, determined to conquer the obstacle in front of you. With each step, your momentum builds. Step by step. Steady and strong, you keep going. Suddenly you stop and look down. You realized that your momentum has carried you this far and you are AMAZED! Only a few more steps stand between you and the summit; between you and your goal. You feel energized and continue moving forward. Just a few more steps and you arrive. You pause and take in the majestic sites around you from atop the mountain. Breathtaking and MIRACULOUS! You’ve just experienced a miracle, indeed.

In short, a simple shift in your thinking can have a tremendous impact on how the day plays out.

Choose to use words that motivate you and those around you. Positive energy is contagious and like attracts like. Be a beacon of light for yourself and for others. Look for the miracles in any and every situation that happens throughout the day. Make it to work safely? Praise God. Arrive home safely? Praise God.

Above all else, be willing to open your heart, your mind, your body, and your soul to the wondrous miracles that God has to offer. From this moment forward, let Divine love guide your every thought and assist you in every decision you make. May you allow this love to be the driving force behind your thoughts and actions and the very thing that gives meaning to your life. Then, and only then will you begin to see that the miracles you’ve been praying for are right in front of you. Be blessed always.

Authenticity: Your Best Asset

Authenticity is your best asset. The sooner you realize and embrace it, the more quickly your personal and professional life will improve drastically.

It can be quite a struggle to identify who you really are and to discover what makes you uniquely you. It can be done, though. Much like any other process in life, the path to finding and embracing your authenticity, will take time, determination, and laser-focus.

Stop comparing yourself to everyone else. You are a unique individual who was born with an immense array of unique talents and gifts that need to be shared with the world. Not tomorrow or next week or next year, but today. Yes, there is a person or even an entire tribe of people who need exactly what it is that you have to offer. Right now. I know it can be a little bit scary and that your fear of being judged is real. Perhaps you’re afraid that you may not get your message across the right way or you may not articulate it as well as you want to but here’s what really prevents you from truly identifying your unique gift and ‘putting yourself out there’ to others.

It’s this tricky little dream crusher called comparisonitis. It’s a snide little devil that secretly creeps up if you’re not paying attention and has you comparing yourself to someone else who is miles ahead of you, which only makes you feel worse about yourself. It has you questioning yourself to the point of comparing yourself to everyone else’s idea of success. This little monster also has you looking at others and saying, “Wow! That web designer is so talented. I could never compare my design skills to her.” or “Wow! Look at that coach’s success rates with her clients. She’s got all the right pieces in play and is killing it online. How am I ever going to reach that kind of status? There’s no way that I could even come close.” Sound familiar? It’s okay. I completely understand. Trust me. When I first began coaching, comparisonitis reared its ugly head more than once.

Even now, although I am much more confident in myself, my business, and my ability to empower my clients, I still have to squash that little gremlin every now and again… and squash it, I do.

Mail_Chimp_Image_PY_2-16

At the end of the day, when it’s all said and done, here’s the truth. You don’t need to be like anyone else; you only need to be your authentic self. You are already more than enough. Your gifts are uniquely yours; your message is uniquely yours; your path is uniquely yours. When you finally learn to accept yourself as you are and stop comparing yourself to others, a whole new world of abundance and opportunities arise you’ve never even dreamed of. Yes, this is authenticity at its finest.

Your confidence skyrockets and you soar to new heights, both personally and professionally. You’re no longer afraid of what others may think or say simply because you are so focused on your own path, you don’t even have time to notice what they say. You’re comfortable in your own skin. You are confident in the woman that you are and you share the amazing gift that makes you uniquely you! Yes, this is authenticity at its finest once again.

So, squash that little comparisonitis bug and put an end to any self-limiting beliefs and self-sabotaging behaviors once and for all! Stand in front of the mirror with your eyes wide open so that you can see yourself and proudly proclaim aloud, “I am more than enough. I have what it takes to make a positive impact in this world. I operate from a space of authenticity and show up in the world as  my true self. Today is the day that I choose to take action.”

I’d love to know of you’ve ever caught a case of comparisonitis and, if so, how you tend to deal with it! Feel free to hit the “Reply” button and respond. Better yet, hop on over to my Facebook group, The Confidence Hub for Heart-Centered Women Entrepreneurs, and post your thoughts on squashing the comparisonitis monster. Feeling stuck and overwhelmed by comparisonitis? Let’s chat about it. Schedule your 30-Minute Complimentary Clarity Consultation with me today!

Thanks again for being YOU! You are simply amazing!

Abundance: An Infinite Source

Infinite Sources of Abundance are Already Within and Around You.

You can manifest abundance in all areas of your life – if you’re committed to doing the work. Once you commit to the process there’s no turning back, though. You’ve got to be all in or all out; there’s no in-between. If you are serious about creating a life in which abundance flows freely, you’ll need to make a few simple, but significant life changes. The process is not as complicated as you think. In fact, once you understand the underlying principles of opening yourself up to accept the infinite sources of abundance that are already within and around you, you’ll see that it’s really quite simple. Yes, there are a few things you must do each day, but little by little, you will begin to see a shift in the way that you think about yourself, your goals, and your life.

To start, you must be willing to open your mind. Take a few minutes each day to breathe deeply and visualize what your ideal future looks like. Don’t be afraid to dream big. Take this time to get crystal clear about what it is that you truly desire. What does it look like? How does it feel? Amazing? Exciting? Exhilarating?  When do you want it to happen? Next week? Next month? A year from now?

Success in The New Year – Setting Goals Instead of Resolutions

Success, New Year, Goals, Resolutions! These are just a few of the buzz words that seem to become a part of our vocabulary around this time of year. With childlike excitement, we view the New Year as a time of rebirth, a time to begin anew. For many, the New Year also symbolizes a time to let go of all the baggage of the past year and embrace wholeheartedly that which has yet to unfold…

As for me, I can hardly believe that we’re already two weeks in to the New Year! It seems like just yesterday I was sitting beach side basking in the warmth of the summer sun. When I woke up this morning, it was 18° – yes, you read that correctly! So here I am now curled up on the couch dressed in multiple layers while typing out my very first blog post for 2016. As I sat down to write, I considered creating the typical “Happy New Year” post, but I decided to share something a little more heartfelt… something that will hopefully change the way you think about success… for GOOD!
