Authenticity: Your Best Asset

Authenticity is your best asset. The sooner you realize and embrace it, the more quickly your personal and professional life will improve drastically.

It can be quite a struggle to identify who you really are and to discover what makes you uniquely you. It can be done, though. Much like any other process in life, the path to finding and embracing your authenticity, will take time, determination, and laser-focus.

Stop comparing yourself to everyone else. You are a unique individual who was born with an immense array of unique talents and gifts that need to be shared with the world. Not tomorrow or next week or next year, but today. Yes, there is a person or even an entire tribe of people who need exactly what it is that you have to offer. Right now. I know it can be a little bit scary and that your fear of being judged is real. Perhaps you’re afraid that you may not get your message across the right way or you may not articulate it as well as you want to but here’s what really prevents you from truly identifying your unique gift and ‘putting yourself out there’ to others.

It’s this tricky little dream crusher called comparisonitis. It’s a snide little devil that secretly creeps up if you’re not paying attention and has you comparing yourself to someone else who is miles ahead of you, which only makes you feel worse about yourself. It has you questioning yourself to the point of comparing yourself to everyone else’s idea of success. This little monster also has you looking at others and saying, “Wow! That web designer is so talented. I could never compare my design skills to her.” or “Wow! Look at that coach’s success rates with her clients. She’s got all the right pieces in play and is killing it online. How am I ever going to reach that kind of status? There’s no way that I could even come close.” Sound familiar? It’s okay. I completely understand. Trust me. When I first began coaching, comparisonitis reared its ugly head more than once.

Even now, although I am much more confident in myself, my business, and my ability to empower my clients, I still have to squash that little gremlin every now and again… and squash it, I do.

At the end of the day, when it’s all said and done, here’s the truth. You don’t need to be like anyone else; you only need to be your authentic self. You are already more than enough. Your gifts are uniquely yours; your message is uniquely yours; your path is uniquely yours. When you finally learn to accept yourself as you are and stop comparing yourself to others, a whole new world of abundance and opportunities arise you’ve never even dreamed of. Yes, this is authenticity at its finest.

Your confidence skyrockets and you soar to new heights, both personally and professionally. You’re no longer afraid of what others may think or say simply because you are so focused on your own path, you don’t even have time to notice what they say. You’re comfortable in your own skin. You are confident in the woman that you are and you share the amazing gift that makes you uniquely you! Yes, this is authenticity at its finest once again.

So, squash that little comparisonitis bug and put an end to any self-limiting beliefs and self-sabotaging behaviors once and for all! Stand in front of the mirror with your eyes wide open so that you can see yourself and proudly proclaim aloud, “I am more than enough. I have what it takes to make a positive impact in this world. I operate from a space of authenticity and show up in the world as  my true self. Today is the day that I choose to take action.”
